… and it did.
So, the other shoe to which I referred has, in fact, dropped.
I have been informed that despite my dislocation being just my first, I am among the unlucky ones whose dislocation caused a fracture that renders my shoulder extremely unstable from here on out.
200 km/h facewinds and hard openings — or openings of any kind — would appear to be out of scope for the pre-surgery future and, until I talk to a surgeon, potentially post-surgery too.
You can imagine how happy this makes me.
Well, phooey.
I don’t know what to say, but this sucks.
I second what Simon says (Ha ha—sorry, that just made me laugh a bit, I’m so immature), I can’t imagine what you must feel like. Its definitely not a great feeling when you have to stop doing something you enjoy for an unknown amount of time.
Probably not so much “unknown” as ever. Unless I’m quite mistaken as to the long term effects of the surgery, it’s not likely that I’ll ever be able to jump again.
Oh yuck. That’s pretty shitty.
